Research has shown that where children are specifically taught thinking and learning skills their educational performance and examination results improve.
Debbie has developed a wonderful day for pupils that teaches them about their brain and thinking and learning strategies. The day has a BIG impact on children - raising their self-esteem and their confidence, competence and identity as learners and achievers. Each child receives their amazing brain book and, at the end of the day, an attendance certificate. Due to popular demand this day is now run as a Keystage 1 day as well as a Keystage 2 day. More information on each day is set out below.

Study Skills for Key Stage 1 Pupils - Your Amazing Brain!
This is a new course aimed specifically Key Stage 1 which introduces the children to their amazing brains and how to use them effectively.
The day sows the seeds for the Key Stage 2 activities and is very much a hands-on, practical, fun day.
For the Foundation year we offer a fun, half day course.
The course has been designed in response to many requests to provide activities for the younger children.

- Your amazing brain-what it needs to work well
- Being multi-sensory
- Learning with your whole brain
- Multiple intelligences-we are all smart cookies
The children will find out about their learning stars, make hats, explore their three brains in one and find out the ways in which they are smart.
All card and paper materials for the day are provided and each child receives a certificate for all their hard work!
The course is run in your scho ol for up to 30 pupils and is suitable for all Key Stage 1 children.
The full day starts at about 9.15 and goes through to the end of the school day.
For the half day, we recommend a morning session and the focus is on brain cells and what the brain needs to help it work well.
