Multiple Intelligence

According to Howard Gardner we have eight, possibly nine different intelligences. Although our potential may vary, we are capable of developing a range of these intellegences, given the opportunity and encouragement.

 

Linguistic intelligence: relates to language and expression through the written or spoken word.

Logical-mathematical intelligence: relates to mathematical and scientific approaches, problem solving and logical thinking.

Visual-spacial intelligence: able to visualise and manipulate images, construct models and show good spacial awareness.

Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence: relates to movement and use of body in controlled ways.

Musical intelligence: relates to a sensitivity towards music, sound and rhythm.

Interpersonal intelligence: relates to a sensitivity towards other people, being a team player and communicating well.

Intrapersonal intelligence: relates to a sense of self and awareness of own feelings, strengths and weaknesses.

Naturalist intelligence: relates to a sensitivity towards the natural world, understanding and using classification.
Practical intelligence: is good at designing and making things, using tools, fixing things.
